La Terre a été engloutie par un trou noir et est entièrement détruite. Près d'un an après la catastrophe, Colin Prite, PDG de Prite Industrie, une société d'énergie, se réveille dans un hôpital de fortune. Envahi de souvenirs très confus, il cherche désespérément à retrouver sa femme et son enfant, mais la majorité de la population ayant été éradiquée, ses espoirs sont minces… Dans une atmosphère inquiétante et désastreuse, d'autres survivants cherchent à se mettre en lieu sûr avant qu'il ne soit trop tard.
